Large consumption of fossil fuel in our modern society entails problems of global-scale climate change, energy depletion, etc. In order to address these problems, the fossil fuel is requested to be replaced with recyclable energy sources, such as plants. Our laboratory is donated by Sumitomo Electronic Industries, Ltd Corporate Social Responsibility, or SEI CSR Foundation. Our primary objective is to produce excellent biofuel crop which doesn’t compete with food production and is environmental burden-free out of Jatropha curcas L. whose seed oil can turn to be biofuel.
